Abstract: The absence of lateritic gravelly soil in the far north region of Cameroon, rich in sand and clay soils or karal causes the increase in the cost of construction of infrastructures in that region, due to the processes of stabilization which favours the presence of these materials. Identification tests carried out on the samples of karal coming from this area indicate that this material cannot be used in road construction. The study of shrinkages of karal lithostabilized with sand shows a clear reduction in the linear shrinkage when the proportion of sand increases. |
